Electrical Safety
On-site safety for electrical workers, as well as public safety, is at the heart of the electrical construction done by NECA contractors.
NECA contractors follow tried-and-true electrical safety practices that protect users, occupants, and workers. These practices are a part of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, the National Electrical Code (NEC), and NECA’s own National Electrical Installation Standards (NEIS).
Your electrical safety is your NECA contractor’s top priority.
Safety Information for Home Owners
NECA is a founding member of the Electrical Safety Foundation, Inc. ESFI produces several guides to help home owners ensure their property is free of electrical hazards.
Safety Information for Employers
Electrical contractors and their electricians must understand the safety rules that apply while performing their tasks. Employers are responsible for electrical safety programs and providing the necessary personal protective equipment for workers to perform in a safe manner. Successful contractors proactively implement safety programs for their workforce.
NECA produces and supports an extensive safety training program through apprenticeship and continuing education. NECA has invested many resources to help contractors and workers with the latest safety information and equipment and meeting industry code and regulatory guidelines.
